Detecting, Removing and Managing Mycoplasma Contamination
Thursday, December 11, 2008, 9:00 AM Eastern Time (ET)

Recent studies have shown that at least 15 to 35% of the animal cell cultures currently in use are contaminated by mycoplasma! These hard to detect microorganisms can adversely affect cultures, experimental data and researchers’ reputations! This seminar will explore some easy to employ strategies for preventing these losses by careful culture management.

  • Understanding the major sources and causes of mycoplasma contamination
  • The hidden dangers of using antibiotics
  • Simple and practical mycoplasma detection methods
  • Mycoplasma clean up methods
